Raise funds your own way
If you would like to raise money for SCF then why not organise your own fundraising event? You could hold a coffee morning, hold a bring & buy sale, or put a collection tin in your local shop or school. Here are just some of our favourites:
Open Garden
Do you have a beautiful garden or an unusual house? Why not organise an ‘open garden’ and charge people a nominal fee to enjoy the garden you’ve worked so hard on. Ask neighbours whether they’d like to be involved.
Fayre or Fête
A fair selling crafts, home-made cakes and unwanted gifts is a great way to raise funds for the Scoliosis Campaign Fund! Seasonal fairs work especially well in the run-up to Christmas or as part of Easter celebrations.
Charity Performance
Calling all you amateur thespians, dancing divas and singing stars! Putting on a charity dance performance, music recital or play can raise much-needed funds and be a great way to show off your talents. Carol singing is a really popular event during the festive period.
Come Dine with Me
Get together with friends and take it in turns to host a dinner party with everyone making a donation to take part and show off their culinary skills. Make sure there’s an award for the winner- a bottle of wine or a trophy makes a great prize!
Swear Box
A surprisingly quick fund-raiser in most offices! Everyone agrees to put £1 into the pot every time they swear- keep a note of the biggest contributor for naming and shaming at the end! We even have a collection box you can use.
Guess the Pet, Match the Baby Picture to the Person, Through the Keyhole
Three great ways to raise funds and get everyone involved. Entrants can pay to try matching their colleagues with their house, pet or childhood photo.
Themed Sports Events
Not everyone can train for a marathon but how about getting sponsored to run in fancy dress? Great ideas include running as a ballerina, Father Christmas or as a character from your favourite film.
Embarrass yourself for Scoliosis!
Grow a beard, shave your head, get gunked- everybody loves their friends and family embarrassing themselves for charity!
Book Sale
Organise a bring & buy of second-hand books. An opportunity to make some room or take home some new favourites.
We are keen to support you in whatever you choose to do and if you would like to take on a more active challenge we can help guide you in the right direction.
